In a sombre moment for the entertainment industry, Pakistani actor Asad Siddiqui is grappling with the loss of his father, Aftab Ahmed Siddiqui, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 85. The revered patriarch was also a dear member of the family of Asad’s wife and actor Zara Noor Abbas.
The news of the bereavement was shared by Asad on his official Instagram handle, where he conveyed the sad news to his fans and well-wishers. The actor expressed profound grief at the departure of his father in an IG Story, describing him as a source of unwavering support, wisdom and love throughout his life.
“Last night, I lost my shelter, my power and my strength and everything that I have,” Asad penned an emotional note. “I lost the most powerful man in our family, the pillar, Abu! It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved father.”
He furthered on, “His departure from this world has left an immense void in our lives, and we are overwhelmed with grief. Abba was our pillar of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. His presence brought light and warmth to our family, and his absence leaves us with profound sorrow.”
The actor capped his grievous message by lauding his late father’s legacy and a request for prayers. Asad wrote, “At 85, he left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire us forever. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we try to come to terms with this profound loss.”
Condolences and messages of support have been pouring in from fans, colleagues, and industry peers, reflecting the widespread respect and admiration for the actor and his family during this difficult time.
The funeral arrangements for the departed soul were announced in another IG Story. The namaz-e-janaza took place on Thursday afternoon at a Karachi mosque, with close friends and family members gathering to pay their respects.
At the sad occasion, Zara took to Instagram grid with a heartfelt post including pictures of her father with her father-in-law. In the post’s caption, the actor shared, “I love you Abu Jaan! Left us last night battling for his life like a hero. His strength and dignity will forever be remembered and will inspire us for years to come.”
Expressing her love for the fatherly figure, Zara said, “Thank you for your love Abu. For never making me feel like an outsider and always standing up for me. Until we meet again!” The celebrity went on to call her father and her father-in-law “my favourite boys” and relayed how the two men were “pretending to play soldiers and laughing at their forever famous satire” in the pictures.
