Gen Mirza meets KSA defence minister, military officials; inaugurates Al-Fatah-II Missile stall at World Defence Show

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (Chairman JCSC) of Pakistan, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, undertook a significant official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in connection with the 2nd World Defence Show, the military said on Tuesday.

During his visit, General Mirza met with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia, to discuss crucial strategic and security issues, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The discussions also explored opportunities to enhance defence cooperation between the two brotherly nations, it added.

The visit emphasised the longstanding and robust relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the field of defence. General Mirza expressed Pakistan's commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and working collaboratively to address regional security challenges.

One of the highlights of the visit was the inauguration of the Al-Fatah-II Missile stall at the World Defence Show, a momentous occasion symbolising the technological prowess and advancements in Pakistan's defence capabilities.

The Chairman JCSC toured various stalls featuring organisations from Pakistan, showcasing the country's defence industry and fostering collaborations with international partners.

In the ISPR statement, it was highlighted that General Mirza held crucial meetings with key Saudi military officials. His Excellency General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff of Saudi Arabia, and Lieutenant General Fahad bin Abdullah AL-Muter, Chief of Royal Saudi Land Forces, engaged in discussions with the CJCSC to explore avenues for mutual cooperation in defense matters.

The meetings encompassed a broad spectrum of strategic and operational issues, emphasising the mutual interests of both nations in maintaining regional stability and security. The collaborative efforts between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are expected to enhance the defence capabilities of both countries, fostering a stronger alliance to address evolving challenges.
