Anushka, Virat expecting second child, cricketer AB de Villiers confirms

Well, well, well. It seems like there is some form of official confirmation that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are expecting their second child. Amidst the rare spotting of the duo, with Anushka carrying her baby bump with grace, cricket star AB de Villiers also affirmed recently that the duo are about to be parents once again. 

Despite the fact that Anushka and Virat have not made an official announcement, AB de Villiers opened up about his cricketing colleague's absence from the first two Tests against England on his YouTube channel. The cricketer spoke about Virat having made the decision to spend time with his family. “All I know is he is fine. He is spending some quality time with his family, and that is the reason he is missing the initial two Test matches. I am not going to disclose anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is doing well," said AB de Villiers. 

He also recognised the significance of family in Virat's life, confirming that the upcoming arrival of their second child plays a crucial role in his decision-making. "Yes, his second child is on the way. Family time is crucial to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him. But he has made absolutely the right decision,” de Villiers emphasised.

Rumours about Anushka's second pregnancy started gaining traction in November 2023, especially following her attendance at a Diwali event in Bengaluru before Team India's World Cup match against the Netherlands. In December, Anushka posted an advertisement for a pregnancy kit, sparking a wave of enthusiasm among her fans. The comment section of the post was filled with congratulatory messages.

The happily married couple celebrated the arrival of their first child, daughter Vamika, on January 11, 2021. Both Virat and Anushka have been resolute in safeguarding their family's privacy, refraining from unveiling Vamika's face and actively discouraging paparazzi from capturing her pictures.
