JOHANNESBURG: Paraguay beat Japan in the penalty shootouts on Tuesday after a game in which none of the sides conceded a single goal.

Paraguay are now through to the quarter-finals and will face the winners of the next match, between Spain and Portugal.

Spain and Portugal's game will be one to look out for as this is the first time the Iberian sides will meet in a World Cup.

Portugal has seven players on yellow cards, while the Spanish have not collected a single caution. Spain and Portugal know the winners at Cape Town's Green Point Stadium will avoid the big guns, with Paraguay, who did not score any goals against Japan, waiting in the quarter-final.

The second match will air at 11:30pm (PST)
