Murree gets season’s first snowfall

Officials of relevant departments to remain present to help and guide the incoming tourists

Murree finally received season’s first snowfall on Monday morning, blanketing the city with 0.5 inches of clean snow.

Keeping in view the changing weather, Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi said the best arrangements have been made for the tourists coming to enjoy the snowfall in Murree with 13 facilitation centres established at various locations. He said this while reviewing the arrangements for tourists in the control room.

He added that officials of relevant departments will remain present to help and guide the incoming tourists.

According to sources, Agha Zaheer visited various areas including the control room in Murree, Jhika Gali, Kuldana, Kashmir Point, and other locations to review the arrangements in light of Murree’s first snowfall of this season.

He also monitored the clearance of roads via CCTV footage. He said all personnel and machinery were functioning efficiently and staff members were available to guide and assist tourists.

He added that workers were engaged in removing snow from the roads with the help of machinery and were sprinkling salt to ensure the snow was cleared from the roads. He further said the traffic was flowing normally and all administrative bodies were active in the field to facilitate and guide the tourists.
