KARACHI:

The Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, Maria Agnes Cervantes, highlighted the need for an increased trade volume between Pakistan and the Philippines during her visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Cervantes pointed out that the current trade volume of $209 million was considerably lower compared to other Association of Southeast Asian Nations members like Malaysia and Thailand, which enjoy trade volumes of approximately $2 billion and $1.65 billion, respectively. Cervantes highlighted the untapped potential and suggested that the Philippines could serve as a strategic hub for distributing goods to the ASEAN region.
