SHC issues notice on MQM worker’s bail plea
The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to all concerned parties on the bail application of MQM's Saeed Bharam, facing a murder case, for the next hearing.
Appearing before the bench, the defence lawyer pointed out that the trial court focused on an incident that happened in 2009 and handed Bharam life imprisonment in 2017. Bharam was accused of murdering police officer Abrar Hussain Zaidi.

However, the Supreme Court approved the appeal against the sentence, resulting in its suspension. Thereafter, Bharam submitted a bail application, contending that the trial court did not adhere to statutory requirements while imposing the initial sentence.
According to the prosecution, the case against Bharam was registered in 2009 at Nabi Bakhsh police station, and he was convicted by an anti-terrorism court. The case was registered on the complaint of the brother of the late police officer Abrar Hussain Zaidi.
