Need for embracing scientific innovation to address prevalent energy crisis, particularly in Balochistan.

Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar emphasized the need for embracing scientific innovation to address the prevalent energy crisis, particularly in Balochistan. Speaking at a ceremony held for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Science (BUITEMS) in Quetta and Balochistan Rural Support Program (BRSP), he highlighted the severe energy challenges faced by the entire country, with Balochistan experiencing a particularly pronounced crisis.

Governor Kakar underscored that overcoming the energy crisis requires a shift towards modern methods of generating solar energy. He expressed these sentiments as he addressed the audience at the signing ceremony, where the MoU was formalized by Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Hafeez of BUITEMS University and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Tahir Rashid of BRSP.

The signed MoU outlines plans for the transformation of the Balochistan Center of Excellence at BUITEMS University and the Balochistan Rural Support Program from the conventional electricity system to alternative renewable solar energy. Governor Kakar believes that such a transition to solar energy is crucial for addressing the energy crisis effectively.

The ceremony was attended by key figures, including Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Rehman, Registrar Dr. Zahid Rauf, and Dr. Nazir Durrani from BUITEMS University.

Additionally, Chairman BRSP Malik Anwar Saleem, Board of Director Members Roshan Khursheed Brocha from Balochistan Rural Support Program, Nasrullah Bareach, General Manager Program Dr. Shahnawaz Khan, and Program Coordinator Naseeb Agha were also present on the occasion.
