Repair of schools designated as polling stations ordered
With the general elections across the country just two weeks away, several government school buildings designated as polling stations urgently require repairs.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with the sluggish pace of ongoing repair works, Commissioner Hyderabad Division, Syed Khalid Hyder Shah emphasised the need for swift action, particularly in the districts of Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, and Badin.
During a meeting on Tuesday, Shah directed officials from the Sindh Education Buildings Works Department to expedite the repair of boundary walls, toilets, and address electricity-related issues promptly.

There are currently 4,431 polling stations spread across nine districts in the Hyderabad division.
The commissioner urged District Returning Officers to ensure timely installation of CCTV systems at polling stations and the appointment of watchmen. Additionally, he called upon district administration officials to engage with transporters for arranging vehicles to shift polling materials and staff to the stations.
