State of Palestine is ‘unavoidable’

Atrocities, mayhem underway against Gazans for more than 100 days is now toiling its very own existence

The writing is on the wall for the Zionist state. It can no more hoodwink public opinion, and sail on with its adamant attitude of denying a logical Two-State solution. Addressing the issue of Palestinian statehood is a must, and the atrocities and mayhem underway against the Gazans for more than 100 days is now toiling its very own existence. The obvious declarations have come from Saudi Arabia and the 27-member European Union, as they have put on table a conditional deal to either come up with an independent state of Palestine, or risk widespread marginalisation. It’s high time for the Jewish entity to see reason and pave the way for a longstanding territorial arrangement, which will see Israel and Palestine cohabit side by side, rather than destabilising peace and security in the region.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in an interview with CNN, was categorical as he said that path to a credible and irreversible Palestinian state is the only way out. He made the pronouncement more concrete by asserting that there could be no normalisation of ties with Israel without achieving the objective of an independent state of Palestine. This was a stunning message to the rogue state of Israel, which was wishfully contemplating diplomatic recognition from the most powerful Muslim state. Ten cents for Prince Al Saud for stating the obvious that “stability and only stability will come through the resolving (of) the Palestinian issue.”

A similar line of caution was drawn from the geopolitical conglomerate of the EU, whose foreign ministers argued that the creation of a Palestinian state is the “only credible way” to achieve peace in the Middle East. They also went on to snub PM Benjamin Netanyahu, who is hell bent upon exterminating a generation of Palestinians. The far-right in Israel must lend an ear to EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, who articulately opined that “…more death, more destruction…for the Palestinian people will not help defeat Hamas or the ideology.” Is someone there in Israel to make a sense out of these noble words?
