Creativity and Mother Earth: a rare link

To create something from inherent knowledge of universe can be termed creativity

Pure creativity is where the artist alone explores and creates. S/he builds something from the heart. Something that is unique and novel. To create something from inherent knowledge of the universe can be termed creativity. There is no such thing as ‘pure’. It all comes from an existing knowledge. The only being that is pure is God Almighty.

“Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else ever thought.”

The above quote by Albert Einstein sums up the meaning of creativity in a few words. It is significant and pregnant with meaning.

And to Pablo Picasso, “Art is the elimination of the unnecessary.” Art takes bits and pieces from everyday life and rolls them into something authentic and real. It takes out the irrelevant bits and glues together the relevant information to produce a piece that is unique.

How to become green through creativity? The answer is to come up with strategies that are diverse and different. Everyone thinks of the commonalities but what really triggers creativity is that that is uncommon. To come up with ideas and concepts that are not run of the mill is what creativity demands. For example, an advertisement about a particular brand of diapers can get creative through how the advertisement is executed. An idea is of how the sweeper uses the diaper to sponge the floor with. Again the idea is to show how absorbent the diaper is. And in the manner the advertisement is executed is very artistic and unique and holds the attention of the consumer convincing them to buy that particular brand of diaper.

A way to generate new ideas is to allow brainstorming, to encourage individuality, provide a stimulating atmosphere, facilitate anonymous suggestions, act on good ideas and continue to hire diverse talent.

Dressing comfortably, maintaining the perfect temperature, taking excursions to broaden thinking and using a note taker to allow ideas to flow freely are some of the ways in which you can encourage people to come up with eco-friendly ways to address environmental problems in an aesthetic and creative manner.

Eating locally and reusing the water bottle in how the flask can be refilled, collecting rain and having a ‘green’ picnic are also some of the ways in which we can contribute to preserving the environment by doing less harm to it.

Overconsumption and exploitation of resources are some of the obvious causes of environmental degradation. However, if we take into account the factors that affect the environment adversely then the solution to these problems can be found.

A close scrutiny and analysis of the causes behind environmental degradation is required to help achieve the goal of making the Mother Earth green!

Identify the causes and then try and figure out the solutions!

Curtailing activities that affect the environment and trying to come up with answers that will help and be of advantage to making the planet green is what’s is needed in the hour of the moment.

How creativity and environment are connected is something I have shown through the course of the argument. The information has been given and now it is the time to take action.

As Micheal Jackson said in his song:

‘Heal the world

Make it a better place

For you and for me

And the entire human race

There are people dying

If you care enough for the living

Make a better place for you and for me’.

Now is the time to put the theoretical knowledge into action. Implementation of the strategies given is what is required.

So Go Green! Go Planet Earth! Go Mother Earth or Gaia!

It is our duty to protect the planet from the hazards of human consumption and avarice. Greed, pride and lust are the enemies of the Earth. Focus on the positive attributes and leave behind the negativities. A Green Planet, a Green Earth will need the human race to be more careful and attentive!
