LAHORE:

Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman has said that the allocation of budget had reduced after 2018.

Addressing the Punjab University’s 132nd Convocation on Saturday, he said the number of out-of-school children had increased to more than 25 million by 2022. He said the students should develop critical and analytical skills as attempts were being made to create divisions in the society by spreading hate material.

"It is our responsibility to research any message before forwarding it on social media," he added. The governor said the main purpose of universities was research.

He advised the students to strengthen their grip in on artificial intelligence.

He said 154 employees of the university had been promoted, while multiple meetings of the Senate, Syndicate, Academic Council and Advanced Studies and Research Board had been held.
