Govt to develop three ITZs in province

ITZs in the province in partnership with World Bank through KITE Project DoT

PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department’s KITE Project DoT is all set to develop the first-ever Integrated Tourism Zone (ITZ) in Mankyal Swat, on public private partnership (PPP) basis, aimed at promoting sustainable tourism and accelerating socio-economic development in the province.

The provincial government has declared three tourist spots as ITZs to promote the tourism industry in the province. The new ITZs include Mankyal (Swat), Ghanool (Mansehra), and Madakalasht (Lower Chitral) respectively, said a spokesman on Saturday.

K-P government will establish ITZs in the province in partnership with the World Bank through KITE Project DoT, said Tauseef Khalid. The development of ITZs would promote tourism, and create job opportunities, besides generating good revenue for the national exchequer, he added.
