The Prosecution Department has yet to appoint a public prosecutor in the case of terrorist attack on the Karachi Police Office (KPO) in February 2023. An anti-terrorism court has ordered the Prosecutor General's Office to submit a letter appointing a public prosecutor and present witnesses and case property to the investigating officer.
Appearing before the ATC on Saturday, the public prosecutor requested time for the appointment, stating that a letter has been submitted to the Prosecutor General's Office seeking the appointment of a special public prosecutor.

In response, the ATC judge ordered the Prosecutor General's Office to promptly make the appointment and submit the necessary documentation. Moreover, the investigating officer (IO) was directed to present witnesses and case property at the next hearing.
According to the prosecutor, the arrested suspects, Abdul Aziz and Mehran, facilitated the KPO attack, having conducted reconnaissance of the premises on behalf of the assailants.
