An era of carnage

UN was seen on its knees, and ability of the oil-rich Arab kingdoms to prevail over Jewish state was naught

One-hundred days of death and destruction over Gaza, and still counting. These are the days of carnage, mayhem, bloodshed, cold-blooded murder, aerial bombardment, ground invasion, and whatnot! It all happened at the hands of an egoistic butcher state, Israel, and the apathy is that the so-called civilised, democratic and human rights-preaching West looked on. The United Nations was seen on its knees, and the ability of the oil-rich Arab kingdoms to prevail over the Jewish state was naught. Diplomacy was one-sided, and the US was callous to the core as it was not only an abettor in the crimes against humanity, but was also eager to open new fronts of aggression, namely in Yemen.

Today the occupied conclave is contracting with diseases, and people are dying for lack of medical supplies. It is tragic that there are few operative ambulances to cater to the sufferings of more than 2 million Palestinians, and every civic infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and mosques are in rubles. Yet, there is no shame for the Zionist state as it extends the excuse that it will stop nothing short of obliterating Hamas. Last but not least is the SOS from rights groups and aid agencies cautioning that famine is round the corner, as Gazans are left with nothing to feed themselves in the wake of a pestering inhumane blockade, and sanctions on humanitarian supplies!

It is ignominious to see that bodies are piled on donkey carts after Israeli strikes on Gaza’s Al-Aqsa hospital. The casualties graph posts a horrible figure of nearly 24,000 dead, including children and women. The UN estimates that roughly 85% of the territory’s population has been displaced, amidst no hope for a reliable ceasefire. This catastrophe is not limited to Gaza, as escalation is evident on the borders of Lebanon, and a blatant interference inside Yemen. Will someone flag a peace moot, and one that comes with retribution to the aggressor? Holding Israel accountable for genocide is a must, before it has the last laugh.
