BIEK to set up complaint booths

Students may request scrutiny of papers from Jan 17 onwards

Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) Chairman Muhammad Saleem Rajput took notice of the complaints related to results of 2023 Annual Examinations of Intermediate Part I Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Science General, Home Economics and Special Candidates.

He has issued instructions to redress concerns of students. BIEK chairman has issued directives to complete the process of scrutiny of all the above groups in a transparent manner on an emergency basis and to resolve the complaints of the students. Subsequently, acting on the directions of Rajput, BIEK will set up two complaint counters from January 17 to redress the complaints of students who are not satisfied with the results.

Students can submit their application along with a photocopy of the receipt of submission scrutiny form and marks sheet. Counters will be set up in the library of board for male students and in the conference hall of the board for female students which will be open from 9am to 5pm. Students are instructed to clearly mention their full name, father’s name, examination group, roll number, phone number, address and all the papers they want to be scrutinized in application. It should be noted that the scrutiny forms of the above groups for the Intermediate Part I annual examinations of 2023 will be received from Wednesday, January 17. Seats and provision of water will be arranged for the students at the complaint counters on the direction of the BIEK chairman.

Transparent conduct of supplementary exams BIEK chairman has directed important steps for the peaceful and transparent conduct of intermediate supplementary examinations starting from Monday 15 January 2024 in the light of the suggestions of senior professors. In a meeting with the Center Control Officers (CCO’s) and Vigilance Officers convened in the conference hall of the Interboard Office, important decisions were taken after consultation with the professors according to which Section 144 will be enforced around the examination centres.

The movement of unauthorized persons in the examination centres and the carrying and use of all types of electronic devices including mobile phones, smart watches will be strictly prohibited. A total of 47 examination centres have been established for the supplementary examinations of 2023, where 47 Center Control Officers (CCOs) and 47 Vigilance Officers will be deployed.

According to BIEK announcement the Intermediate Supplementary Examinations for 2023 will be held till February 6, 2024 for Science Pre- Medical, Pre-Engineering, Science General, Commerce Regular, Commerce Private, Arts Regular, Arts Private, Special Candidates and Home Economics group.  About 24,609 students will participate in the papers from 2 pm to 5 pm in the evening shift. Strict instructions have been issued to the students that they will be bound to enter the examination centre on time
