Eight of a family killed in Lakki Marwat
At least eight people, including women and children, were shot dead by unknown assailants in their house in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P)
According to the police, the incident took place within the limits of Sarai Naurang police station in Takhti Khel. Police officials said armed men barged into a house and opened indiscriminate fire. They added that the assailants escaped after the attack.
According to preliminary reports, among the eight people in the house, two children and two women were killed in the late-night attack.
A police team reached the crime scene after being informed and started its initial investigation. The dead were shifted to a nearby hospital and officials are collecting evidence from the incident site.

The police officials added that it could be old enmity which led to the incident, but they were exploring all possible motives.
Residents of Takhti Khel announced a protest against the incident.
In another incident, at least five members of a family were killed and one was injured in an attack in Rawalpindi.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Chountra police station when unknown assailants opened fire on individuals travelling in a car.
The Chountra police station registered a case against 12 suspects under various provisions, including murder. However, none of the accused have been apprehended as yet.
