Three killed, 17 injured as bus plunges into lake in Bahawalpur

Three people were killed, and 17 others injured on Tuesday when a bus plunged into a lake in Bahawalpur district, according to rescue officials.

They said that the accident took place early morning in Nowshera Jadeed area of the district when a passenger bus overturned while taking a U-turn and fell into a dry lake, resulting in the death of three passengers on the spot.

Upon receiving the information, rescue workers reached the site and shifted the victims to a local hospital, they added.

The deceased included two males and a female, according to the rescue officials.

The ill-fated bus was reportedly travelling from Islamabad to Karachi.
