COAS conferred military medal during Bahrain visit

Honour in recognition of Gen Asim's efforts, contributions to strengthening bilateral ties

The King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has conferred the Military Medal Order of Bahrain First Class upon Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir during his two-day official visit to the kingdom.

The honour is in recognition of Gen Asim's efforts and contributions to the strengthening of bilateral ties between the two brotherly nations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

Gen Asim, during his visit, engaged in key meetings with Bahraini dignitaries, including His Majesty The King, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa (Commander of Bahrain Defence Forces), and Gen Shaikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa (Commander of Bahrain National Guard).

Discussions during these meetings focused on matters of mutual interest, including military and security cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.

The dignitaries acknowledged and applauded the achievements of Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and its ongoing efforts to promote regional peace and stability.

The COAS was also the chief guest at the 27th Raising Day of the Bahrain National Guard.

He was warmly welcomed, received a guard of honour, and witnessed a demonstration related to a counter-terrorism training exercise.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation, the commander of the Bahrain National Guard extended thanks to Pakistan Army for its highly professional training assistance in military and counter-terrorism domains.
