Renowned actor Affan Waheed recently appeared on the show Hasna Mana Hai, where he candidly addressed swirling rumours about his alleged marriage to Durefishan Saleem, his co-star from the popular drama series Pardes. The speculation gained momentum after the duo collaborated on a wedding photoshoot, igniting rumours and fueling discussions among fans.
During the interview, Waheed offered a straightforward explanation regarding the hearsay. He attributed the rumours to the nature of participating in a wedding shoot alongside a beloved on-screen couple, terming the resulting gossip as "fake news." His clarification aimed to dispel misunderstandings, highlighting the importance of exercising discernment when interpreting such scenarios.
"It was a photo shoot for a brand, nothing more than that" stated the star. "The drama was a hit." He added, "We do bridal shoots. People think we've gotten married. Especially on YouTube." He joked how he's been married many times on YouTube and in photo shoots.
Known for his introverted nature, Waheed delved into his approach to forming friendships within the entertainment industry. He revealed that he maintains a close-knit circle of friends and outlined specific qualities he values in his companions. This includes their ability to navigate his mood swings without taking offence and the significance of being attentive listeners, even during times when he may be at fault, without passing judgment.
Waheed's candid discussion not only addressed the circulating rumours but also provided insights into his personal life and professional relationships. His openness offered fans a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the situation, shedding light on his perspectives beyond the realm of acting.
The actor's on-screen chemistry with Saleem in Pardes had captivated audiences, leading to heightened speculation about their off-screen relationship. The pair's collaboration in the wedding photoshoot, combined with the circulation of speculative content on YouTube, contributed to the widespread belief among fans that a real-life wedding might be on the horizon.
In a previous appearance on Ahsan Khan's chat show alongside Saleem, Waheed disclosed that Saleem had been proposed to by a white classmate while she was pursuing her bachelor's in America. Despite considering the proposal initially, she eventually declined due to her young age and concerns about her mother's reaction. Saleem also revealed that Waheed had recently gone through a breakup and was currently single.
The topic of Waheed's initial reluctance to share screen space with Saleem in Pardes was addressed by the host. The star explained that when he initially signed the project, another established actor was cast for the role that Saleem later took over. He was hesitant to work with a newcomer in a role he had envisioned with an established star. Additionally, he had reservations about Saleem's Urdu language skills.
Affan clarified that his hesitation wasn't due to a reluctance to work with newcomers, but rather stemmed from the initial script envisioning a different co-star. However, after a few days of shooting, he expressed contentment and happiness with working alongside Saleem.
