Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry was granted permission by an election tribunal on Friday to contest elections from Jhelum for the NA 60 and NA 61 constituencies.
The objections raised by the returning officer (RO) against his nomination papers were rejected, paving the way for him to contest the upcoming elections.
Justice Chaudhary Abdul Aziz, while accepting the appeal, rejected the objections of the ROs from both constituencies and allowed Fawad to contest the election. Speaking to the media after appearing in the accountability court, Fawad said he had yet to decide which party to contest from.
