PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal says ex-foreign minister was a great asset to nation, and his services will always be remembered

Former foreign minister and PML-N leader Sartaj Aziz passed away on Tuesday.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Sartaj Aziz. A stalwart, a true icon and a towering figure,” PML-N wrote on its official X handle.

“His contributions to the nation and towards the party will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace and may he be granted the highest place in jannah. AMEEN.”

Former prime minister and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Aziz.

“The passing of Sartaj Aziz brings immense sadness and sorrow to our hearts. He was not just a close and trusted companion to Muhammad Nawaz Sharif but remained dedicated to the party, leadership, and ideology throughout his life,” he said.

Shehbaz honoured the late PMLN veteran saying, Sartaj Aziz was a true patriot, a sincere and honest Pakistani, and an extremely honourable individual. “His entire life was dedicated to public service, and he was a person of great integrity within his own right”.

Caretaker foreign minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, taking to X, said that he was deeply grieved to learn of the sad demise of Sartaj Aziz.

“A thorough gentleman, he was an iconic figure who served Pakistan selflessly and with exemplary dedication,” he added.

Jilani said that Aziz will always be remembered for his intellectual prowess, integrity, and kindness.

Meanwhile, ANP chief Asfand Yar Wali also expressed his condolence on the sad demise of Sartaj Aziz.

In his statement, Wali said that the news of the death of the former foreign minister caused immense sorrow and grief to him.

ANP chief said that Aziz played a significant role in Pakistani politics and represented the country on various platforms. “In this moment of sorrow, the Awami National Party shares in the grief. May Allah forgive the departed soul,” he added.
