LAHORE:

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif stated on Saturday that the PML-N is now stronger and more united than ever, emphasizing the party's commitment to rescuing the people of Pakistan amidst current economic challenges.

During the PML-N parliamentary board meeting, Nawaz praised his brother Shehbaz Sharif, the party president, for his unwavering commitment to both the party and the people of Pakistan.

He credited Shehbaz for successfully addressing the electricity shortage crisis, highlighting the pivotal role played by his brother in leading the country through challenging times.

Acknowledging the resilience of PML-N leaders Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz, Nawaz praised their bravery in the face of adversity and their unwavering support for the party's cause.

Shehbaz reciprocated the admiration, attributing his political achievements to Nawaz's guidance and support. "I now have only one wish, and that is to see Nawaz Sharif lead the country out of this crisis as the prime minister for a fourth time. My politics started with Nawaz Sharif, and it will end with him."

Former federal minister Saad Rafique, speaking on the occasion, highlighted pivotal moments in the PML-N's history, such as Maryam's march towards the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which signalled the party's enduring strength against political victimization.

Former defense minister Khawaja Asif dismissed criticisms of ancestral politics, asserting that young leaders like Hamza and Maryam have proven themselves through resilience, resistance, and a commitment to public service.

Maryam expressed gratitude to Shehbaz, Asif, and Rafique for their generous words. Reflecting on her initiation into politics amidst extraordinary circumstances, she affirmed her satisfaction with any role the party entrusted to her.

"I had decided that upon the return of PML-N Quaid (Nawaz Sharif) on October 21, I would lead a life akin to that of my mother. I would refrain from participating in any elections, harboring no desire for any ticket. I would remain content with whatever role the party deems fit for me," she said.

Addressing the gathering, Hamza conveyed the wisdom imparted by his late grandfather, Mian Sharif, who advised his sons and the entire family that no situation or challenge is insurmountable as long as they remain united and extend good wishes to each other.

Hamza emphasized that it was this counsel that Shehbaz Sharif adhered to throughout his life, steadfastly rejecting any attempts to disrupt the unity in the party.

He underscored the continuation of this unity between himself and Maryam, rooted in the same guidance from Mian Sharif. He asserted that unwavering unity within the PML-N is essential for resolving Pakistan's challenges.

PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah applauded the resilience of Shehbaz and Nawaz, hailing them as the bedrock of the party. He commended the achievements of Hamza and Maryam, expressing optimism about the party's future under their leadership.
