Cop detained

Police have detained a cop for opening fire and injuring two labourers after altercation near Gate No 1 of the New Sabzi Mandi on Superhighway on Wednesday.
The injured, identified as 25-year-old Ilyas Ejaz and 35-year-old Imran Fateh Sher, were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical aid.
According to the details narrated by the uncle of the injured labourers, Ilyas and Imran, residents of Jamali Goth, were going on a motorcycle to their job at a housing society.

On the way, they stopped near the vegetable market to seek directions, when a man, with his face covered and not in police uniform, began honking from behind. There ensued arguments between the labourers and the 'cop' that led to physical scuffle.
The policeman took out a weapon and pointed it at the labourers.
Ilyas attempted to record a video of the masked man claiming to be a cop, with his mobile phone, prompting the alleged policeman to fire a shot on him.
Ilayas said that if the person was a policeman, he should have been in uniform.
