Slain men identified as TTP operatives

Ghazanfar was allegedly involved in killing of fifty people, including an attack on intelligence agency’s office

LAHORE:

A suspected terrorist killed in an encounter in Chiniot on Saturday has been identified as a member of the banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), police said on Tuesday.

According to a spokesman, CTD carried out an operation in Chiniot on Saturday, during which Ghazanfar Nadeem and an unidentified accomplice were killed.

Ghazanfar was allegedly involved in the killing of fifty people, including an attack on an intelligence agency’s Faisalabad office. The second slain terror suspect has now been identified as Younis, who also belonged to the banned TTP and was wanted by Dera Ismail Khan police.

He was identified with the help of NADRA records. The CTD spokesman further alleged that Younis was involved in several cases of terrorism in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the attack on Pak Army Camp Shikai.
