Veterans stand firm in Balochistan polls

Electoral stage set: Mengal, Achakzai, Fazl, Bugti, Zehri, Rind, Raisani and more

In the general elections scheduled for February 8th, where numerous young candidates have entered the arena, several familiar faces are still in the electoral race for the seats of Balochistan in the National and Provincial Assemblies.

Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Yaqoob Khan Nasar, Shah Zain Bugti, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, Khalid Khan Magsi, Jam Kamal Khan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Qasim Khan Suri, and other familiar figures are actively participating in the electoral process.

According to officials from the Election Commission, a total of 45 nomination papers were submitted for the NA-252 constituency. Seemingly strong candidates in the race for this NA seat include Mir Baz Mohammad Kehtran, Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasir, Sardar Babar Musakhel, and Tariq Mehmood Kehtran.

Meanwhile, for NA-235 (Sibi), a total of 41 candidates submitted nomination papers, with Shahzain Bugti, Dostain Domki, and Harbiyar Domki emerging as influential candidates.

In the competition for NA-254 (Kachhi, Jhal-Magsi), 36 candidates submitted nominations, with the main contenders being Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani.
