Govt begins daily monitoring of projects

Naqvi directed caretaker ministers to visit projects twice daily.

LAHORE:

The caretaker Punjab government plans to carry out daily monitoring of development projects in the province to ensure their timely completion.

According to an official statement, members of the caretaker cabinet and government officers have been assigned responsibilities to monitor the projects.

Chairing a meeting, Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed the ministers and officers to send daily project monitoring reports through WhatsApp.

He also directed the Police Special Branch and other institutions to submit monitoring reports about the development projects. He said the projects were in the last phases and negligence or lapse in this regard was unaffordable.

Provincial Caretaker Minister Amir Mir will monitor the General Hospital project, Ibrahim Hassan Murad Mayo Hospital, Wahab Riaz Dental Hospital, Doctor Javed Akram Children Hospital, the tourism secretary Ganga Ram Hospital and the Lahore commissioner the PIC project. Dr Jamal Nasir will monitort the projects in Rawalpindi, Bilal Afzal the Lahore Ring Road SL3 and Gujranwala Expressway.

Naqvi directed the caretaker ministers to visit the projects twice daily.

The South Punjab ACS will monitor the projects in Bahawalpur and the Multan commissioner in his division.
