'Chupke Chupke' star Aymen Saleem ties the knot with Kamran Malik

Lauded for her captivating portrayal of Ramisha, affectionately referred to as "Mishi," in the immensely popular Pakistani drama series Chupke Chupke, Aymen Saleem recently embarked on a joyous and momentous journey as she exchanged vows with Kamran Malik in a heartwarming wedding ceremony, about which she posted updates on Friday. 

The star took to her social media platforms, resonating with happiness and gratitude as she announced the delightful news, marking the inception of a promising new chapter in her life. In a heartwarming Instagram post, Aymen joyously expressed, "Here's to my forever...Alhamdulillah," embracing the union and sharing her heartfelt sentiments about the commencement of this beautiful journey alongside her beloved partner.

Aymen wore a gorgeous blush pink ensemble with stunning detailing. She opted for a classic veiled look, with a sheer drape covering her face as she walked towards her groom. The bride's embellished dress was adorned with pearl and stonework. For her jewellery, the actor chose a pearl choker with matching pearls and gold earrings and a bejewelled jhumar. The daughter of the esteemed former Pakistani cricketing legend, Saleem Yousuf, Aymen initially ventured into the corporate world, embarking on a professional trajectory within the realm of finance, where she gained valuable experiences working at an investment bank. However, destiny had different plans for her as she delved into the enthralling world of acting, marking a captivating shift in her career.

Her breakthrough moment arrived with an impactful portrayal of Ramisha, affectionately known as Mishi, in the widely acclaimed Pakistani drama series Chupke Chupke. Aymen's remarkable performance not only garnered widespread acclaim from audiences but also earned her a prestigious nomination for the esteemed Best Emerging Talent in TV award. Her portrayal in Chupke Chupke alongside eminent industry figures such as Ayeza Khan, Osman Khalid Butt, Arslan Naseer, and Mira Sethi showcased her acting finesse, capturing the hearts of viewers with her compelling presence on screen.

Continuing her ascent in the Pakistani entertainment industry, Aymen graced television screens once again in the captivating series Ibn-e-Hawwa, sharing the spotlight with renowned actors Hira Mani and Shehzad Sheikh. Her versatility and skilled performances continued to captivate audiences, solidifying her position as a rising star in the vibrant realm of Pakistani television.

Stepping away

In 2021, after announcing that she would step away from acting, the starlet appeared on Time Out with Ahsan Khan to clarify that while she did indeed take a break to think through her career switch, she had not stepped away from acting altogether. When questioned by Ahsan over why she chose to make the announcement, Aymen shared, “I am from a corporate background. Coming into the industry, I wasn’t fully prepared. Our industry is very different from other industries. I’ve done investment banking in New York and I’ve done consulting. Coming into showbiz is a completely different ball game altogether. I wasn’t entirely sure whether I wanted to do this or not.”

The actor went on to explain that the success of her TV debut caught her off-guard, saying, “Chupke Chupke was such a huge hit, and we were given so much love and support by our fans and wellwishers, but if I’m being completely honest, I was a little overwhelmed. It was just so much, and I was very grateful for it, and I was really humbled, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready for this. So I wanted to make sure I take a step back, reevaluate what I want to do, and that if I come back then I should come back to stay.” 

Sharing how she made the announcement to solidify the decision in her own mind, as well as give the message to the industry that she was not interested in pursuing any new projects at the moment, Aymen elaborated further, “I wanted a break. I needed to reassess whether I even want to do this or not, and I find it a little bit hard to say no. I was reconnecting with my mentors in the industry who really helped me during this time. It wasn’t just me switching jobs, it wasn’t like going from one bank to another. That’s a 9 to 5 career and it doesn’t change much.” Reflecting on the demands of celebrity life, Aymen said, “You need to always be in your character when you’re in the public eye. Glam life was not for me. So I needed to make sure I’m ready for it.”

As Aymen now embarks on this deeply personal and joyous journey of marriage, her impactful contributions and stellar performances in various television dramas have indubitably left an enduring mark in the hearts of audiences, establishing her as a rising luminary within Pakistan's entertainment fraternity.
