Street crime, land grabbing, smuggling major issues of city: IG

Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar chaired law and order review meeting on Friday and discussed various important issues related to the police department.

Chief Secretary Dr Fakhre Alam, Home Secretary Iqbal Memon, IG Police Riffat Mukhtar, Additional IG Karachi Khadim Rind, DIG Asim Qaimkhani and DIG East Azfar Mahesar and others attended the meeting.   

The DIG West and East Zones Asim Qaim Khani and Azfar Mahesar gave presentations about the crime situation and improvement of police system in their areas.

Sindh police chief mentioned that land grabbing, smuggling, water and power theft continues in Karachi with street crimes for which police have been taking measures to curb it. The IG informed the meeting that some police stations have been established in the government buildings, or on the land of Revenue Department, KDA, KMC and others authorities.
