The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) has launched a crackdown against illegal units involved in burning plastic waste in the federal capital.
The units have been established without formal approval of the authorities concerned in sector H-13.

Pak-EPA Director General Farzana Altaf Shah told reporters in a telephonic conversation that there were videos that went viral in H-13 Naseerabad area where people had established mega units burning scrap material, particularly plastics for recycling purposes that were creating dark smoke in the atmosphere.
The ICT Administration on the request of EPA had imposed section 144 to ban all sorts of burning of waste.
