In June this year, Apple announced iOS 17 along with the news of launching Journal app, which was set to release in September of this year. The app launched in iOS 17.2 this month, enabling users to journal their life with various features for free, unlike other similar applications on the Store.
Journal is seamlessly integrated into iOS with a simple and secure interface, along with additional features to make the experience enjoyable. Only available on iPhones, the app saves data on iCloud so that none of your memories are lost.
To start writing a new entry, the app provides highlights and memories from your Photos app to help you begin writing about a memory, or Reflection prompts to get you started on writing. The app also includes a Private Access which can access the content of your journaling and make the perfect suggestions for you.
Journal will let you add audio recordings, photos, take a picture in the moment, or even add current location to your new journal entry. The app includes a feature notifying you to make journal entries every day at a particular time, so you can unburden yourselves.
Journal can be locked with a passcode or face ID to ensure your memories and journal entries remain safe. The app has yet to arrive for Macs and iPad, but currently all entries can be made through your iPhone from the palm of your hand.
