36 DROs take oath as election nears

Emphasis on upholding principles of fairness and transparency in electoral process

District Returning Officers (DROs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Tuesday took the oath of their posts in an event administered by Provincial Election Commissioner Shamshad Khan at a local hotel.

The oath ceremony, held during an ongoing training session, saw 36 DROs pledge to carry out their responsibilities with efficiency and utmost sincerity as officials of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Addressing the gathering, Shamshad Khan encouraged the DROs to perform their duties diligently, assuring them of the ECP’s complete support in ensuring the conduct of free and fair elections in the province.

The emphasis was on upholding the principles of fairness and transparency in the electoral process. Chief Secretary of K-P, Nadeem Aslam Chaudary, also attended the training session and spoke to the participants. He informed them that public notices had been issued in preparation for the upcoming general elections in the country.

Additionally, he pledged the full support of the provincial government and administration to the DROs, emphasizing the importance of conducting polls in a free and fair manner. Chaudary underscored the national significance of general elections.
