Veteran star Tanuja, Kajol's mother, admitted in ICU

Veteran Bollywood star Tanuja was rushed to a Mumbai hospital Sunday evening, as per The Indian Express. The renowned actor, 80, is the mother of Indian stars Kajol and Tanisha Mukerji. as well as Ajay Devgn's mother-in-law. The reports mentioned that the famous artist has been hospitalised due to age-related illnesses and is currently in the ICU a hospital in Mumbai’s Juhu area.

The Press Trust of India quoted a source as saying, “She is under observation and is doing well. There’s nothing to worry about.” Her family and representatives are yet to release a statement about her condition. 

She debuted in the Indian film industry with Hamari Beti in 1950 as a child actor. Her cinematic journey began in the early 1960s with her debut film Chhabili in 1960, followed by Hamari Yaad Aayegi in 1961. However, it was her role in the 1965 film Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi that marked her breakthrough, showcasing her acting calibre and establishing her as a promising talent in Bollywood.

The veteran actor turned 80 in September. Her daughter and Ajay all took to social media to wish her a happy birthday. The Dilwale star wrote, “Happy eightieth birthday, mom. I can never thank you enough for everything you’ve taught me by example and continue to do so today. I love you to bits and pieces. Eight decades of love, wisdom, and laughter! Happy Birthday to my incredible Mom!”
