Village attacked with rockets in Jaffarbad

Miscreants managed to flee scene after carrying out attack

QUETTA:

Unidentified miscreants attacked a village in the Jaffarabad district of Balochistan with shoulder-fired RPG-7 rockets.

Police told The Express Tribune that miscreants fired rockets on the Goth Abdul Rasheed Jakhrani in Dera Allah Yar area in the wee hours of Friday. The assailants fired more than five rockets at the village, causing widespread panic and chaos.

Some of the rockets landed in the nearby village of Abdul Karim Samalani, where they detonated, resulting in injuries to a local woman who has been identified as Hasina Bibi.

The miscreants managed to flee the scene after carrying out the attack.

Upon receiving the report of the attack, the station house officer (SHO) of Dera Allahyar police station, Abdul Rauf Jamali, arrived at the scene with the investigative team and a large contingent of police.

The injured woman was shifted to the nearby hospital where her condition is stated to be critical as the police have initiated a thorough investigation into the attack.

An emergency was declared in the hospital to provide her timely medical treatment.

Police and other law enforcement agencies personnel reached the spot and talked to the eyewitnesses. Jaffarabad is considered to be one of the most volatile districts of Balochistan.
