The District Returning Officers (DRO), Returning Officers (RO) and Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) have taken charge of their offices for elections on the seven seats of national and 14 seats of provincial assembly in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Officers of the district administration, forest department, education department, district council, Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation, municipal committees, collectors, tehsildars and Parks and Horticulture Authority have been appointed as the ROs and AROs.
Separate ROs and two AROs each have been appointed for the seats of national and provincial assemblies. Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon will be the DRO of the Islamabad district and Rawalpindi DC Hasan Waqar Cheema will be of the Rawalpindi district. Their offices have been declared as the offices of the DROs. All ROs and AROs will assume election duties in their respective offices from Wednesday [today].
The RO of Islamabad’s NA-46 will be Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Kamran Cheema he will be accompanied by two AROs Shalimar AC Nehal Hafeez and Model College Principal Dr Zafar Iqbal. The RO of NA-47 Islamabad-II will be Usman Ashraf and Assistant Returning Officers will be Secretary AC Abdullah Khan and Senior Teacher Azhar Abbas.
Muhammad Abdullah Mehmood will be the RO of NA-48 Islamabad-III whereas the AROs will be Deputy Director Admin Aamir Khurshid and Islamabad College Principal Dr Khalid Mehmood. The RO of NA-51 Murree will be Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Headquarters Dr Safdar Hussain and AROs will be ACOs Muhammad Faisal and Qamar Shahzad.
Further, Abdul Majeed will be the RO of NA-52 Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi. The AROs will be Municipal Officer Saddaf Abbas Kazmi and Assistant Education Officer (AEO) Mirza Furqan Abid.
Similarly, ADC Revenue Nabeel Riaz will be the RO of NA-53 Rawalpindi suburb seat while AROs will be District Council District Officers Khawaja Faisal Javed and Hafiz Asif Shiraz.

PHA Director General Ahmed Hasan Ranjha will be the RO of NA-54 Cantt and AD Planning Omer Razzaq and AEO Aamir Aqeel Shah will be the AROs.
AD Revenue Ahad Dogar will be the RO of NA-55 Taxila and Municipal Committee Chief Officer Ghulam Bilal and AEO Waheed Butt will be the AROs.
Syed Nazarat Ali Shah will be the RO of NA-56 City and AD Municipal Committee Muazzam Ali and AEO Education Shiraz Hassan will be the AROs.
For provincial seat PP-6 Murree, Muhammad Anas Saeed, Assistant Commissioner Kotli Sattian, will be the RO and Raja Tahir Aziz, Tehsildar Murree, and Arshad Iqbal, AEO Murree, will be the AROs.
Kahuta AC, Fazlur Rahman will be the RO of PP-7 Kahuta and AROs will be Saeed Nawaz, Tehsildar, and Sohail Ahmad, AEO. Ishtiaqullah Khan, Kallar Syedan AC, will be the RO of PP-8 while AROs will be Rafat Abbas, Kallar Syedan Municipal Committee Chief Officer, and Abbas Haider, AEO. Mian Murad Hussain, Gujar Khan AC, will be the RO of PP-9 while AROs will be Raja Amir Mehmood, Tehsildar Gujjar Khan, and Kamran Hussain, AEO.
Muhammad Mazhar Nadeem, Deputy Director of Development, will be the RO of PP-10 while Rafaqat Gondal, Municipal Officer, and AEO Abdul Mateen Mughal, will be the AROs. The RO of PP-11 will be Ansar Hayat, Director PHA, while AROs will be Shazia Mumtaz, AD Local Government, and Zia Abbasi, Headmaster.
The notifications of their appointment were delivered to all their offices on Tuesday, December 12. Police security has also been provided to all these ROs and AROs, the placards of the RO and AROs and constituencies have also been displayed in bold letters outside their offices.
