Karachi experienced the coldest night of the current winter season, sending shivers through the city as temperatures plunged to new lows.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the mercury dropped to 13.5 degrees Celsius in the early hours of Friday, marking a significant dip in the ongoing winter season.
Jinnah Terminal, a key weather monitoring point, reported an even colder temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius, underscoring the severity of the cold spell gripping the city.

PMD’s Early Warning Centre issued a forecast, predicting a potential drop to a minimum of 12 degrees Celsius on Saturday or Sunday. The warning emphasised the need for residents to brace themselves for continued chilly weather.
The department anticipates dry daytime conditions in the coming days, accompanied by cool to cold nights. The forecast also raises the possibility of light fog blanketing the city in the early morning hours, which could impact visibility.
