In a tragic incident that happened in the Sohbatpur district of Balochistan, the tranquil setting of a construction company’s labour camp was shattered by an attack from unidentified miscreants on Thursday.
The assailants, armed with improvised explosive devices (IEDs), targeted the camp, leading to the loss of one life and leaving two policemen injured. Among the casualties was Saddam Hussain, a laborer who, despite prompt efforts to rush him to the hospital, succumbed to his critical injuries before reaching medical care.
The two policemen, tasked with guarding the camp, also bore the brunt of the attack, sustaining injuries in the line of duty.
The assailants, brazen in their act, managed to escape the scene unscathed. Police arrived at the site, initiating an investigation into the incident that aimed to unveil the perpetrators behind this senseless act of violence. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The aftermath of the attack saw a tightening of security measures around the labor camp and its vicinity, so as to prevent any potential follow-up incidents.
The local community, already reeling from the shock of the assault, awaited justice and sought reassurance that such acts would not go unpunished.
It is worth noting that Balochistan has witnessed recurrent incidents where miscreants target laborers, particularly those involved in road construction projects in regions like Mekran.
These attacks often serve as a coercive tactic to pressure road contractors into paying extortion to terrorist groups, adding a layer of complexity to the security landscape in the province.
