CM says convocation symbolised the culmination of years of relentless dedication and unwavering commitment

Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (R ) Maqbool Baqar has said that we must remind ourselves that our patriotism, our love for this nation, and our commitment to its welfare are intrinsically tied to our discipline and devotion.

This he said while speaking at the IBA Convocation-2023 at IBA main campus inKarachi on Saturday. On the momentous occasion as many as 1,184 graduates were conferred degrees in several disciplines. The graduating batch included 776 graduates from six undergraduate programmes, 403 graduates from ten postgraduate programmes, and five graduates from three PhD programmes.

 The CM said that the convocation symbolised the culmination of years of relentless dedication and unwavering commitment. He added that it signified the transformative power of education, the beacon that has illuminated the path of students’ future.

He told students, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

He said, IBA stands as a premier multidisciplinary institution, offering a spectrum of educational programmes and the three distinguished schools, School of Business Studies (SBS), School of Economics and Social Sciences (SESS) and School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS) provide a comprehensive educational experience.

Quoting the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the CM said, “With faith, discipline, and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve.”

Justice Baqar told the graduates that they have the knowledge, skills, and values to make a difference. “Each of you has the potential to be a leader in your unique way.” The CM said, “Be responsible citizens who not only achieve personal success but elevate the entire nation.” Dr. Azra Raza, Chan Soon-Shiong Professor of Medicine and Clinical Director, Edward P. Evans Foundation MDS Centre, Columbia University in New York attended the event as Guest of Honour.
