Aerial firing lands bridegroom in jail
Nishatabad police arrested two suspects, including a bridegroom, who allegedly performed aerial firing at a wedding ceremony and spread fear and throughout the area.
Police seized a weapon and filed a case against them. The CPO took notice after a video of the aerial firing went viral on social media.
The wedding procession for Shahnawaz, a resident of 6GB, went to 53GB of Siddwan when Muhammad Ali, a resident of Chichawatani district, and another suspect allegedly fired guns in the air. This spread panic in the area. City Police Officer Captain (Rtd) Muhammad Ali Zia took notice of the matter and tasked officials to arrest the accused.

SHO Nishatabad sub-inspector Waseem Sahu and sub-inspector Arsalan Zafar raided various locations and arrested the bridegroom Shahnawaz and his partner, along with seizing weapons and filed a case against them.
A young man was killed by celebratory gunfire during a wedding ceremony in Thikriwala in February of last year.
Police registered a case against nine persons including the groom and his two brothers on charges of murder and violation of the Marriage Act. Three of the suspects, including the brothers of the groom, were arrested.
According to the police, Hamid Mahmood, a resident of Usman Town in Chak 215 area, stated in his complaint that his nephew Saqib Ali had been fatally shot during the henna ceremony of his neighbour Maqsood, son of Yaqub.
