Caretaker Punjab Minister for Transport and Livestock, Ibrahim Hassan Murad, reiterated the caretaker setup’s commitment to attracting foreign investment as a crucial response to the challenges facing the country. Murad highlighted ongoing efforts, stating, “Contracts are being signed with different countries, especially with China, to promote bilateral trade and investment.” He expressed the nation’s respect for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), anticipating over $100 billion in investments in Pakistan.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 7th Pakistan Industrial Expo at the Lahore Expo Centre, Murad underscored the significance of international collaboration. The expo, organised by Everest International Expo, featured participation from around 100 Chinese companies and over 150 Pakistani companies. In attendance were Chinese Deputy Consul General Lahore, Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Dr Qaiser Abbas, Everest Expo International’s Yousaf Fa, Steve Zho, Zishan Hashmi, and Chairman Daroghawala Industries Owners Association Ch Mansha.

Murad, who also oversees Mines and Minerals, emphasised Pakistan’s status as a crucial investment destination in South Asia. He affirmed the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, characterising the nations’ relations as cordial.
Describing the expo as a significant success for both industrial and educational sectors, the minister highlighted its role in fostering collaboration between businessmen from China and Pakistan.
Wang of Everest Expo International reiterated China’s view of Pakistan as a pivotal country in South Asia, noting substantial investments in infrastructure and facilities. He expressed optimism about the growth of this investment over time.
