KARACHI: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) will investigate reasons behind the team’s poor show at the Men’s World Team Championship that took place in Germany last month.

Pakistan lost to Denmark and Malaysia in one-sided encounters and only won against Austria before being knocked out of the championship.

According to the PSF Vice-President Qamar Zaman, the federation was shocked at the result and will question the team management and players for their dismal performance.

“There will be an inquiry,” Zaman told The Express Tribune. “The players might also get punished at the end of it. It was very disappointing and the  management will be questioned.”

There were reports of injuries to players with Pakistan number one Aamir Atlas being unfit when he left for Germany, according to a PSF official. However, Zaman said that the investigation will be held to find out the truth.
