Swift progress in hydropower urged

In a bid to achieve self-sufficiency in hydel power generation, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister, Justice (Retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, has issued directives for an assertive plan to expedite ongoing hydropower projects under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO). Additionally, he emphasized the initiation of new feasible projects within the province.

The chief minister has called for round-the-clock efforts to maximize hydropower generation in the shortest possible timeframe. Urging immediate action, he instructed the prompt appointment of the Chief Executive Officer for the newly established 'Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Grid and Transmission Company' to ensure its functionality without any delays.

Furthermore, he emphasized accelerating the pace of work on PEDO's approved plan for hydel power generation, aiming for significant progress in the coming months.

Presiding over the 14th meeting of the PEDO Policy Board, Chief Minister Shah underscored the abundance of water resources in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
