CHICHAWATNI:

CTD, police and other law enforcement agencies foiled a terror plot in Chichawatani on Wednesday. A terror suspect was arrested during an intelligence-based operation and a detonator, a battery, explosive material, electronic circuits and prima cord was recovered from the possession of the arrested suspect.

According to CTD sources, the suspected terrorist, identified as Mohmand Agency resident Waheedullah, belongs to the banned organization Jamaat-ul-Ahrar. A case was registered against the terrorist with Sahiwal CTD police station and Waheedullah was transferred to an unknown location.

Earlier this week, CTD claimed to have foiled a major terror plot by arresting seven suspected terrorists linked to banned out-fits during separate operations in different areas of Punjab on Monday.

A spokesman for the CTD said that 248 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted in different districts of the province to effectively deal with any untoward incident of terrorism in which 248 suspected persons were interrogated and seven alleged terrorists were arrested with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials.
