Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir highlighted the importance of combat readiness and mental agility to respond to a “multi-spectral threat paradigm”.
A statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday said the army chief was visiting a Corps Level Collective Training exercise of a Strike Corps based in Mangla. "The exercise is aimed at validating offensive operational concepts.
He witnessed an impressive display of complex manoeuvres undertaken, led by an Armoured formation equipped with state-of-the-art VT-4 tanks, the military’s media wing said.
General Asim also reiterated during his visit that realistic, mission-oriented training during peacetime can guarantee "excellence on the battlefield should the need arise".
He also met troops participating in the manoeuvres and commended their professionalism and operational efficiency.
On arrival, the army chief was received by the Mangla Corps commander.
