Upcoming polls will show the real power of MQM-P

Party says already planned victory celebrations for Feb 9

KARACHI:

The Muttahida Qaumi Miovement-Pakistan (MQM-P) held general workers meeting on the road adjacent to the party's central office - Pakistan House.

MQM-P convener, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Senior Deputy Convener, Syed Mustafa Kamal, deputy conveners and members of the coordination committee, central organising committee, and large number of workers were present in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the purpose of the meeting was to announce the celebration of day of thanks (youm-e-tashakkur) scheduled for February 9 a day after the February 8 General Elections. He said, the Election Day of February 8 will see dreams of those who think they will conquer Karachi turn into nightmare of defeat.

He mentioned that the purpose of the MQM-P delegation went to Lahore was not to take power but to get the rights of the urban areas of Sindh.

He said, we do not need to show certificate of patriotism to anyone. He said that the people including men, women and children have stood up for the formation of a new Pakistan with a new pledge. We don't want to fight, but everyone should keep in mind that we know how to fight.

Addressing the meeting, Syed Mustafa Kamal said that those who are calling MQM a dead horse are restless and sleepless. Those who say that MQM will not get votes should tell about the performance of their 15-year tenure.

Kamal said we have made sacrifices to establish peace in the city, our opponents are tense that MQM is so strong that no one can topple it. Today's gathering is making sure that MQM will win all the seats in the city on February 8.

In his address, Deputy Convenor, Anees Qaim Khani said that the meetings of political parties are not as big as MQM's general workers meeting in Karachi. Today, the MQM is united and organised under the leadership of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Syed Mustafa Kamal and Dr Farooq Sattar and will get overwhelming success on February 8, from Karachi and Hyderabad.

Deputy Convener Izhar-ul-Hasan said in his address that despite all the difficulties, MQM is going to contest polls in a strong, organised and dynamic way and today's general workers meeting will determine the future direction.
