A roadside explosion killed three people in Balochistan's Kech district on Sunday, Makran Division Commissioner Saeed Ahmed Umrani said.

According to Umrani, unidentified terrorists targeted a vehicle through an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Hoshap tehsil of the district. “All the three people inside the car died on the spot,” he said, adding that further inquiry was under way.

Levies and other law-enforcement agency personnel reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital. The blast damaged the vehicle. Umrani said that the victims belonged to the Balgitar area of the Kech district.

The security forces have killed a large number of terrorists involved with various terrorist groups in the two-decade-long war of terror imposed by Pakistan's enemies. Last month, a hardcore terrorist, Saddam Hussain Muslim, was killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kech district.

Before that, at least two terrorists were killed in the district in another IBO. During the operation in the general area of Zerber in Balochistan’s Kech district between Oct 6 and 7, the military had said, intense fire exchange took place between the security forces and terrorists.

“Two terrorists were sent to hell”, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said in a statement. A large quantity of equipment and explosives were recovered, the ISPR said, adding that the dead terrorists had been actively involved in multiple terrorist activities.

A week later, the ISPR had said terrorist Saddam and his close associate Maqsood, were eliminated in another operation and that the security forces recovered a large cache of arms and explosives from their possession. It added that Saddam was operating incognito by using different names.
