Suspects forcibly enter residence, electrocute victim

A family of British nationals of Pakistani ancestry were robbed, with the head of their house tortured by three armed bandits who forcibly entered their residence in the vicinity of Gujar Khan police, it emerged Friday.

According to the complaint, the bandits robbed the family of more than Rs2 million in cash, at least 20 tola jewellery and other valuables.

The victim Muhammad Shabbir told police that he was at the house with his wife and family members when someone rang the bell for the gate. When he opened the door, three men brandishing rifles and pistols grabbed him and forced their way inside while locking the door.

They repeatedly inquired about domestic and foreign currency and electrocuted the head of the household, according to the complaint.

They took GBP 400, Rs550,000 and twenty tolas of gold jewellery from his wife's closet. They found the Rs1.5 million, eight watches, four licensed pistols and rifles in his closet.

They also took away the DVRs of the closed-circuit TV cameras installed at the residence, the complaint added.

They also took three mobile phones, four ATM cards, a UK driver's license, and their vehicle.
