At least one soldier was martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

The soldier, identified by the military as Lance Naik Muhammad Ejaz Khan, belonged to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The military's media wing said that "sanitization of the surrounding areas is being carried out to neutralize any other terrorists found in the area".

In a separate IBO, at least four terrorists were killed in the Badaber area of Peshawar.

ISPR identified one of the terrorists as a high-value target (HVT) commander Samiullah aka Shenay, along with commander Salman aka Ahmed, Imran aka Muhammad, and Hazrat Umar aka Khalid

According to a statement by ISPR, the eliminated terrorists “remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities, including extortion and target killings in the area.” The military's media wing added that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from them.

"Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country."

Earlier, security forces killed seven terrorists in an IBO in the general area of Kiri Machan Khel in the Tank district of K-P.

The media wing of the military said that the security forces carried out the IBO on the reported presence of terrorists. “An intense exchange of fire took place during the operation, due to which seven terrorists were sent to hell,” it said. “The terrorists’ hideouts were also busted during the operation.”

According to the ISPR, the forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities, including recent target killings of policemen in Tank and surrounding areas.
