RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Laiqat Ali Chatha Thursday said work on the long-anticipated Daducha Dam project will commence on Friday, putting rumours around fresh delays to rest.

According to a statement, Commissioner Chatha visited Daducha Dam site and reviewed in detail the machinery and other preparations of FWO to start work on the dam.

Speaking on the occasion, he said it is great news for the citizens of Rawalpindi that the work on the crucial project is starting on Friday.

“This will be the second ‘gift’ for the people of Rawalpindi after the Ring Road project.”

He directed the Saddar assistant commissioner to keep the relevant revenue staff stationed at the site so that any ambiguity encountered in demarcation or survey is resolved immediately and the work is not hampered. He also directed the FWO to deploy maximum resources here.

“A deadline of two years has been set to complete the project.”
