Religion, modernity converge in training

1,000 seminary participants benefit from skills training, including entrepreneurship

PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Religious Affairs Department has successfully concluded a significant training project aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of teachers and students in religious seminaries. 

This initiative was designed to bridge the gap between traditional religious education and modern societal requirements, ultimately helping participants become productive and responsible citizens. Under this project, over 1,000 students and teachers from various madrassas across the province received comprehensive training.

The training sessions were conducted in multiple key districts, including Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, Bannu, and Nowshera.  The program spanned  five days and was made possible with technical support from the Muttahida Ulema Board.

The training encompassed a wide range  of  essential  subjects, including personality development, social empowerment, career guidance, effective communication skills, entrepreneurship,  inter-religious and interfaith harmony, citizenship awareness,  and  personal  responsibilities.

Participants were also educated about their rights to services, voting procedures, fostering respect for differences while seeking common ground, and utilizing technology for personal and educational growth. Prominent  scholars  and  experts  from  across  the  country  led  workshops  and  educational  sessions,  contributing to the professional development of both teachers and students. 

The project culminated with a ceremony held at Darul Uloom Jamia Ashrafia Peshawar, where Chief Khateeb Maulana Tayyab Qureshi presided as the chief guest. The event also featured distinguished figures, including Mufti Zafar Zaman (Focal Person, Religious Affairs Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Maulana Obaid Rehman (Member, Muttahida Ulama Board), Maulana Rais Khan, Maulana Merajuddin Sarkani, and Dr.  Zahir Shah (Chairman, Sirat Department, Peshawar University), and various senior government officials
